Cameyo customers are the sole owner of their data.
Your privacy is very important to us. For our education customers, we pay particular attention to the privacy rights of students to adhere with The Family and Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
FERPA is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. COPPA is a law created to protect the privacy of children under 13.
Cameyo has protections in place to comply with these important laws.
To learn more about Cameyo's FERPA compliance, please visit our FERPA Compliance page on our website.
Regarding the protection of children under the age of 13, our Privacy Policy specifically states:
"Our Services are not directed to children under 13. If you learn that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us."
For our education customers, the school administrator determines the software they will deliver and to whom it will be delivered through the Cameyo service. This may include children under the age of 13.
Our Master Services Agreement (MSA) specifically states:
"Each party shall perform all of its obligations under this Agreement in compliance at all times with all foreign, federal, state and local statutes, orders and regulations, including those relating to privacy and data protection."
Because Cameyo does not store customer data, complying with COPPA is your responsibility. Google has an excellent article on "Communicating with Parents and Guardians about Cameyo for Education." We highly recommend it.
Further, our MSA states:
"[Cameyo] will only access content stored in the Client’s environment when an authorized administrator from the Client grants Company explicit permission to do so."
We view such a request as extremely rare and will only proceed if it is absolutely necessary.
If you have questions pertaining to FERPA or COPPA compliance, please contact your account manager or email us at info@cameyo.com.
